Advent Poem Day 11

Come, join us in the resurrection revelries!
There is bread, and wine, and water
Turned into wine, filling new wineskins
Cracking the old ones, as wheat is cracked
And ground into the flour we eat each day.

But today, we feast, we famished of food
And spirit, and spiritual food, the food
falling from the heavens, from the sky,
from the store fronts and soup kitchens;

So come, join us, we wait no more!
This world is an urgent place,
Needing the bread and wine,
the dollar and dime,
Of Christ in us.
