Did you see Kings?

I was very impressed by the series premiere.  I am still cautious because it was the premiere, and the way the next episode follows up will be the deciding factor as to if I continue watching, but Kings was imaginative, creative, and thoughtful with how to bring an ancient story into the present.

Without being cheesy.

Let’s face it: most biblical or supernatural shows are cheesy…Eli Stone anyone? or a Christmas special other than the Muppets?

When
it comes to quality media with strong biblical themes or imagery there
are few television shows outside of Veggie Tales that really balance
the message of the Scriptures and quality artistry together.  I think
movies are easier becuase they offer a far deeper cinematic medium in
which to work plot, metaphor and explore the depth of imagery.

Kings might soon be added onto the list.  Time will tell.

P.S. I think this is the first time I’ve ever posted just about a TV show in over two years.  I am proud of that!
