Essential Weekend Reading

Here’s some great reading for the weekend:

Evan Curry writes a great post on Why Every Christian Should Read Jesus For President.  My four part review of Jesus For President is here, here, here, and here in order.  My thoughts on the book tour are here.

Makeesha Fisher’s post Blog Action Day Pvoerty almost made me cry.  Not out of pity for her and her family, but more for how I am so selfish and self-centered and insulated from the realities of what the world can do to people that is beyond our control, but, as in Makeesha’s testifies, never God’s.

Paul Soupiset flushes out "willful redistribution" in an insightful and non-ideological fashion in his post Redistributive Giving.

Anything on Collide Magazine is at minimum interesting, as is Neue.  Both great Christian publications that don’t get much credit.

I have some essential reading of my own this week: books and essays on Gerard Manley Hopkins and the Tractarians/Oxford Movement.  Wish me luck!
