Formation House Becomes New Place For Monasticism
Karen Sloan, author of the book Flirting with Monasticism, has announced the opening of Formation House, an intentional Christian community in Pittsburgh.
TheOoze.TV interviewed her about living the new monsastic life:
If you are able to take a year and enjoy intentional Christian community Pittsburgh would be a great place to do it: be part of something new in a city that is beautiful and needs fresh life. I spent a day in Pittsburgh last year and enjoyed going to the downtown area near the Pirates and Steelers stadiums: what a place! It reminded me a lot of the Philadelphia atmosphere, but even more relaxed.
A message from Karen said the big push right now is to find the folks who will be a part of the
first annual cycle, beginning in late August. Applications received by
May 15 will be given prioritized consideration. If you are considering being a part of Formation House you can apply here.
Emergent Village has a post up from Karen about Formation House.
