Limited Edition Everyday Liturgy Remix
There is a website called Gizoogle that allows you to search any website and the text displayed is changed from its original quality into hipster hip-hop language. There is some cursing involved, as this is hip-hop speak, but I have an excerpt from the Gizoogled version of my review of Justo Gonzalez’s book The Apostles’ Creed for Today:
Original Version—Justo González writes about the creed for today’s audience, weaving between scholarly points and popular theology. González has the right tone and insight into the lay reader to gently steer them away from some of the wayward beliefs held in the American church today, particularly the creation/evolution debate, the virgin birth, unhinged patriotism, and creative eschatologies.
Gizoogled Version—Justo González writes `bout tha creed fo` today’s audience, pimpin’ between scholarly points n popular theology cuz its a G thang. González has tha riznight tone n insight into tha lay playa ta gently brotha them away fizzle some of tha wayward beliefs held in tha American church today, particularly tha creation/izzles debate, tha virgin birth, unhinged patriotism, n creative eschatizzles.
Everytime I talk with some Left Behind people about the end times I will diffuse my frustration and interpretive dissonance by repeating "creative eschatizzles" over and over. That is classic!
